Become a Webmaster and Make Money at Home

If you think that creating a website is something that you could not handle then this article should come as a pleasant surprise. There are thousands of Webmasters from all around the world that are working from home and making money with their own websites. In this article I will outline the basic steps that you need to take in order to create a website.

These basic steps can be applied in order to create a website for your already established business, as a family website or to start an online business. You do not need to have any prior knowledge in order to perform these steps but some basic knowledge would be helpful.

1. The first thing that you need to do is come up with a domain name. For instance, google.com is googles domain name. Go to a web host like 1and1.com and follow the simple steps in order to register your domain. You can also use them to host your website. The host is the company that will actually publish your website to the Internet. Without a host you could create your website but it would never show up on the World Wide Web.

2. Second, you will need to find an html editor. HTML (hypertext markup language) is the code that makes a web page work. You can hard-code the website if you know HTML but most of us do not so we turn to HTML editors like Dreamweaver or Frontpage. You can find these programs by doing a simple search on your favorite search engine. They can be a little pricey but it is nothing compared to the price you would pay for the education required to learn HTML.

3. The third step you will have to do in order to become a Webmaster and start making money at home is to actually create the first page. If you are using Dreamweaver to do this you can simply select create new and then select basic HTML page. Once this page comes up you can enter the text, image etc. that you would like your front page to contain and then save the page with the exact file name index.html. The name of the first (front) page must be named index.html or it will not work.

Once the first page is created and named properly you can start making more pages that you will link to your index page. These pages can be named anything you would like.

Now that you have a new operational website it is time to start making money from it. Go to google.com/adsense and register for an account. The way this works is you design a Google ad that looks good on your website, copy and paste the code into the spot you would like for it to show up on and every time someone clicks on one of the ads you get paid. The more visitors you get to your website, the more money you make.

Thats it, pretty easy isnt it? Of course these are very basic steps but they will get your brand new website up and running so you can tell your friends and family you are now officially a Webmaster and you can enjoy some extra money from your efforts.
