Diamonds, Earrings, Necklaces, Healthy Lifestyles - The Evolution of Love and Devotion

When I recently published this true story of love, there was such a quick response from readers, between two friends who had met 50 years ago, in their first year of college and marry and live happily ever after, until he recently died. Since I had known him more than forty years, there are more touching stories about this prince of a man and his beautiful wife. They lived healthy lifestyles and so do their children now.

I wondered for a while what if was that made this story resonate so quickly. And as I read what had been to me a simple story about good men and good lives creating good legacy, and I gradually came to see how you might feel, hearing her words as she told me that story. Her dear gentleman husband, my close friend, would never have shared with me, to not cause discomfort to that other chap.

And my AHA moment about this story is that it seems a bit like why women enjoy the century old story of red headed Anne Shirley, the strong willed girl from Prince Edward Island, who broke her blackboard over the head of a lad, and finally choose who she would marry. And help him make up his mind he loved her.

Women admire perhaps our modern more beautiful, but fully independence: a clever fellow pulls up beside her and begins to chat him up. She sends him off with a message to her true love; he obliges quicker than she ever might had dreamed. Within hours, she and her dream prince are out for a drive in the country in the new car his father had happened to allow to him to borrow that day. Soon, he would present her with but not today.

But since there was interest, I think in the story, I will tell another story about about this true story of love, let you enter any names you wish so I do not feel I betray any soul to soul confidence. But this is as good as it does get, from the many couples I have met in my adult life, and it bears reminding me, and you, about light heart, eternal love, that kept being stoked, Women admire perhaps her independence: a clever fellow pulls up beside her and begins to chat him up. She knows he is asking to ask her out. She gently leans towards him, put her hand on his arm, and points to the only man in the class she wants to date.

And she points at her future husband, who she has not met. That is, she picks him, he is right there, with his jalopy that turns out to the impressive new 1952 automobile that his father had loaned him that very day. They went for a long drive. They now have three beautiful grown children. I miss his radiant smile and sturdy handshake. Anyway, after that long drive in the country, he did not drive her down to the jewelry store and pick out a ring.

But he did drive her home, went in and met her parents, who approved, and they went to several movies, picnic in the park, walk by the sea. He made his first offering in front of a jewelry store, when he saw her admiring some earrings: he proudly bought them, her blushing that was not necessary as he placed it slowly, lovingly, around her lovely neck.

One day, as they came of the movie, the jewelry store was open, and were having a sale on necklaces. He insisted, she blushed. He loudly announced to the staff and startled customers that his bride was going to be dressed like Helen of Troy with every raise and promotion. She turned purple and stumbled out: says she does not recall what the movie was about.

Not too long longer, the jewelry store had a special, just for them, on Diamond Rings, Engagement and Marriage.They enjoyed a full, rich, in the full sense of love and respect for each other and from the community at large. A well lived life, and one that had a local successful businessman a bit of an English Canadian Maurice Chevalier. Some one you miss, and think of fondly, makes your eyes crinkle and smile.
